From what I’ve read, under ordinary circumstances, this would probably have been one of my parts of the day. The Rocket Garden has a bunch of old rockets from the 50’s and 60’s. Up close history. They aren’t nearly as big as I would have thought. Or as well maintained. The paint is peeling and faded. You can tell they’ve spent the last few years outside in the coastal sun.

Just down the road from Daytona Beach is Kennedy Space Center. I’ve always been a space nut. Growing up I was convinced I was going to grow up to be an astronaut. So, yes. I spent the day here.

I like the shadow of the rocket against the wall.

Ok, ok. I’m done. But seriously. This is pretty stuff. I can’t say there won’t be more, just not more from this beach.

Pretty much got that just at the right time. I love the glowing line.

So I got this feeling that Daytona Beach and other parts of the Northern Florida coast were built sometime in the mid to late 50s to early 60s and never really changed much after that. This just feels like something that was designed around the time of the Gemini Rockets. The inside is really nice. The view is spectacular. I’d certainly stay there again, but it is a specimen of the architecture of a certain time period.

That’s not a good thing or a bad thing, it’s just a thing.

The title pretty much says it all.

I swear there aren’t many more of these. But forgive a guy. It’s February in Minnesota. I want to see as many photos of warm ocean pounding against the sand as I can right now.

So this is what I meant by the seagulls frolicking. They looked like they were having fun. Though it was probably hunting or stealing or fighting or whatever it is that Seagulls do when they are flying over the surf diving at one another.

No, not the city. The actual beach. I thought it best to include at least one image of it. It’s pretty.

I did not stay here. I stayed inthe hotel next door. It looked nice though early in the morning with the sun just peaking above the horizon. So I took it’s photo. No other reason that it’s here except that I still liked the photo after getting home.
